CLEMSON, S.C. – Eleven Clemson student-athletes earned their respective degrees following the conclusion of the Summer 2020 semester. The 11 student-athletes are representatives of seven athletic programs and are joined by four graduating members of the Tiger Trust Program.
The list of graduates features five members of Clemson’s 2018 National Championship football team, a group that includes current team members Baylon Spector (Marketing) and Tyler Brown (Anthropology) and former team members Patrick Phibbs (Geology) and J.L. Banks (Anthropology). Tre Lamar, a 2019 free agent signing by the Detroit Lions, also earned his degree as a member of the Tiger Trust program.
Curran Scott of men’s basketball and MK Bonamy of softball each earned their master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. Bonamy is just the second graduate from the softball program, which played its inaugural season this year.
Reginald Epps graduates following a successful career with the Tigers’ track and field team, qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the men’s 800 meters during the 2019 outdoor season. Gabriel Diaz Freire earns his degree after contributing to 13 singles victories and 14 doubles victories with the Clemson men’s tennis team this past season.
CJ Gaddis, Tavaghn Monts and Chase Pinder also earned their undergraduate degrees as Tiger Trust graduates. Since 1980, the Tiger Trust program has provided an opportunity for all student-athletes who have exhausted athletic eligibility or have left Clemson early for professional opportunity to return to the University to earn their undergraduate degree if they left the University in good standing.
