Clemson Falls to Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Clemson men’s tennis team fell to No. 49 Louisville on Friday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center, 4-0. The Tigers fall to 7-4 (2-2 ACC), while the Cardinals improve to 12-4 (3-1 ACC).

Louisville clinched the doubles point on Friday afternoon with wins on courts two and three. Senior Sam Edwards and freshman Yizhou Liu fell on court two, 6-3. Sophomores Carlos Kelaidis and Marshall Dagostine fell on court three, 6-4.

The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead with straight set victory by Filho over Reed Rabideau at No. 6, 6-3, 6-2. Louisville jumped out to a 3-0 advantage when Simon Baudry fell to the 98th ranked Wynn at No. 2, 7-6 (3), 6-2. The Cards clinched the match with a victory by Morin-Kougoucheff over Alex Favrot at No. 1 7-5, 1-6, 7-5.

Clemson returns to the courts on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. against Virginia in Anderson S.C. at the AU Tennis Facility.
