BATON ROUGE, La. – Fellan Ferguson and Kamryn McIntosh went 1-2 in Saturday’s 800m race at LSU’s Alumni Gold meet Saturday at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium. Clocking a time of 2:04.64, Ferguson now ranks fourth in Clemson history in the event, overtaking McIntosh’s previous No. 4 time, which she set at the Texas Relays. McIntosh’s performance in the 800m today is just below Ferguson’s at No. 5 in the Clemson record book. Additionally, junior John Lewis won the men’s race after running Clemson’s season best time of 1:47.75 in the open 800m.
The women’s hurdles group also shined for the Tigers as Lakeisha Warnerwon the women’s 400m hurdles (B) with a time of 57.76 seconds. The sophomore now ranks eighth in CU history in event. In the A-section, Markeeta Thomas placed fifth, crossing the finish line in 58.42 seconds. In the women’s 100m hurdles, sophomore Ebony Williams posted a team-best time of 13.43 seconds for the season. With Saturday’s performance, Williams now sits at No. 9 in program history. Additionally, sophomore Sidney Marshall’s time of 13.99 seconds in the women’s b-section is her personal best and earned her a second-place finish in the race.
The Tigers also saw production from their 1500m group as Katie Fortner (4:32.96) won the women’s a-section while Mikie Harris (4:39.48) placed fourth in route to recording her PR. Jackson Goodwin (3:55.35) PR’d to place third in the men’s a-section, while freshman John Ward (3:58.23) record his personal best to win section B.
