Tigers Compete at ACC Championships in Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The men’s and women’s Clemson cross country teams competed this morning at the ACC Championship meet in a rainy Notre Dame, Ind. The Tigers finished tied for 14th in the women’s 6K race and 14th in the men’s 8K.

On the women’s side, Leah Disher set the top mark for the Tigers, completing the 6K course with a time of 21:55.4, good for 74th in the field that included five top-30 ranked teams. Andrea Foster trailed behind her and finished in 22:19.0.

The men were paced by Samuel Garringer, whose time of 25:42.7 was the 100th fastest in the field. Freshman Sawyer Dagan crossed the line shortly after him, finishing in 109th with a time of 26:23.5.

“The results may not reflect the effort put forth by the athletes today,” said Head Coach Vicky Pounds. “Obviously it’s not the outcome we were hoping for, but I could see that everyone gave their best effort.”

Up next, the Tigers close out their season at the NCAA Regional Championships in Lexington, Ky. That meet takes place on Friday, Nov. 12. For all the most up-to-date coverage regarding Clemson Cross Country, please visit ClemsonTigers.com and follow @ClemsonTrackXC on Twitter and Instagram.
