Associate Head Coach - Hurdles/Long Sprints

Lennox Graham: a Coach and a Mentor

Lennox Graham is the Associate Head Coach of Track and Field at Clemson. He works with the Tigers’ long sprints, hurdles and relay groups. Graham joined the Clemson staff in 2017 after nearly a decade as head coach at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he established one of NCAA Division II’s premier programs.

Graham’s Clemson athletes have consistently produced conference, national and international success. During the 2025-26 season, Clemson’s sprint and hurdle groups helped the women win both the ACC Indoor and Outdoor Championships. The season included ACC titles in the men’s and women’s 4x100-meter relays and the men’s 200 meters, as well as a series of record-setting performances. The women’s 4x100-meter relay ran 42.48 seconds to set the ACC, ACC Championships meet and Clemson records, while the men’s 4x100-meter relay ran 38.90, the fourth-fastest time in program history.

Graham also helped guide Ian Johnson to a personal-best 10.01 in the 100 meters and ACC Men’s Track MVP honors, Jalen Johnson to ACC indoor and outdoor titles in the 200 meters, and Oneka Wilson to First Team All-ACC honors in the 100-meter hurdles. At the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships, Clemson’s men’s 4x100-meter relay earned Second Team All-America honors, while the women’s 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays and Jalen Johnson also received NCAA All-America recognition.

Graham previously guided Clemson hurdler Giano Roberts to the program’s first NCAA championship in the men’s 60-meter hurdles in 2023. In 2021-22, Roberts, LaFranz Campbell and Devon Brooks each advanced to the NCAA Championships in both indoor and outdoor competition. Roberts and Campbell earned First Team All-America honors outdoors, while all three were named Second Team All-Americans indoors. Earlier in his Clemson tenure, Graham coached national qualifiers in the 400-meter hurdles and helped the men’s 4x400-meter relay win the 2018 ACC Indoor Championship and the 2019 ACC Outdoor Championship.

Graham’s coaching impact extends beyond Clemson. At Johnson C. Smith, he coached 25 NCAA Division II national champions and 164 All-Americans, guided the women’s program to four top-five NCAA Division II team finishes, and coached student-athletes who established five NCAA Division II national records. He was named CIAA Coach of the Year nine times.

Graham has also coached at the international level at three World Championships, the 2016 Olympic Games, the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 Continental Cup. He coached Danielle Williams to the 2015 World Championships and World University Games titles in the 100-meter hurdles and guided Leford Green to a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2012 Olympic Games. More recently, Graham coached D’Andre Anderson to gold medals in the 400 meters and 4x400-meter relay at the NACAC U23 Championships and worked with Williams and Anderson at the World Championships.

A 1984 graduate of Alabama State University, Graham began his coaching career after competing as a student-athlete and has built a reputation for developing sprinters, hurdlers and relay athletes at the conference, national and international levels.
