Stevens is a 6-10, 225-pound four-star center who ranks as the top prospect in North Carolina according to On3. He is the third-best prospect in N.C. according to 247sports.
"Will is a highly skilled post player who will fit very well into our system," said Brownell. "I love his ability to shoot, dribble and pass out of the high post. I feel like he will be a matchup problem for opponents as he gains strength throughout his career."
On the AAU circuit, Stevens averaged 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 40 percent from three. As a junior at Davidson Day, Stevens averaged 11.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. He shot 55 percent from the field and 40 percent from three. His father played baseball at Presbyterian, while his mother played basketball at Texas Tech.
He chose Clemson over Vanderbilt, South Carolina and St. Mary’s.
