CLEMSON, S.C. – Five Tigers were selected in the MLB draft on Sunday, including three in the top-10 rounds. Junior righthander Aidan Knaak was chosen in the fifth round (No. 163 overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers, junior lefthander Justin LeGuernic was selected in the sixth round (No. 180 overall) by the Kansas City Royals and senior catcher Jacob Jarrell was picked in the eighth round (No. 232 overall) by the Atlanta Braves.
Two Tigers were chosen in rounds 11-20. Junior righty Ariston Veasey was chosen in the 11th round (No. 337 overall) by the Chicago Cubs and junior righthander Drew Titsworth was picked in the 11th round (No. 339 overall) by the Philadelphia Phillies. Later on Sunday, senior lefty Michael Sharman signed a free-agent contract with the Chicago White Sox.
Knaak (Fort Myers, Fla.) was the first Tiger drafted by the Brewers since 2016 (Weston Wilson). Knaak is a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection, the first Clemson pitcher in history to earn that honor in each of his first two seasons. In 231.0 innings pitched over 44 starts in his career, he is 16-8 with a 4.29 ERA, .239 opponents' batting average and 306 strikeouts against 81 walks. He is second in Tiger history in strikeouts-per-nine-innings pitched (11.92), sixth in strikeouts, ninth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.78) and tied for ninth in starts on the mound. Clemson has a 32-12 record in his 44 career starts as well.
LeGuernic (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was the first Tiger drafted by the Royals since 2022 (Mack Anglin). LeGuernic was one of the team's top long relievers in his best season at Clemson in 2026. In 71.2 innings pitched over 40 appearances (seven starts) in his career, he has a 4-6 record, three saves and a 6.40 ERA while allowing 74 hits (.265 opponents’ batting average) and 46 walks with 93 strikeouts.
Jarrell (Florence, S.C.) was the first Tiger drafted by the Braves since 2020 (Spencer Strider). Jarrell was one of the strongest players and hardest workers on the team during his four seasons at Clemson, where he was a three-time team co-captain. He was a career .260 hitter with a .519 slugging percentage and .375 on-base percentage in 176 games (164 starts). He had 22 doubles, 44 homers, 133 RBIs, 123 runs, 93 walks, 21 hit-by-pitches and a steal. Jarrell became the first Tiger since Seth Beer (2016-18) to lead Clemson in homers in back-to-back seasons (2025,26).
Veasey (Peachtree City, Ga.) was the first Tiger drafted by the Cubs since 2019 (Grayson Byrd). In his first season at Clemson in 2026, Veasey had a 3.29 ERA in 20 relief appearances. He allowed 13 hits (.143 opponents' batting average) and 18 walks with 37 strikeouts, as he led the team in appearances and opponents’ batting average. He also had a 2.00 ERA, .121 opponents’ batting average and 19 strikeouts in 18.0 innings pitched over 11 relief appearances in ACC regular-season games.
Titsworth (Frankenmuth, Mich.) was the first Tiger drafted by the Phillies since 2012 (Scott Firth, Kevin Brady). In 110.0 innings pitched over 54 appearances (12 starts) in his career, he has a 13-4 record, two saves and a 4.34 ERA while allowing 102 hits (.241 opponents’ batting average) and 44 walks with 119 strikeouts.
Sharman (Woodstock, Ga.) had a 6-2 record and 3.39 ERA in 15 starts in his one and only season as a Tiger. In 77.0 innings pitched, he allowed 73 hits (.243 opponents’ batting average) and 11 walks with 77 strikeouts. He was fifth in Tiger history in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.00) and seventh in walks per nine innings pitched (1.29) for a season. He tied for fourth in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio and tied for eighth in walks per nine innings pitched. Sharman was also first in the ACC in strikeout-to-walk ratio, first in walks per nine innings pitched, fourth in WHIP (1.09) and ninth in ERA. He led the team in wins, complete games (1), innings pitched and pickoffs (3) as well.
Two Tiger signees were drafted in 2026. Righthander Blake Bryant (Douglas, Ga.) was selected in the Competitive Balance Round A round (No. 31 overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ethan Offing (Irmo, S.C.) was chosen in the 18th round (No. 544 overall) by the Boston Red Sox.
