CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers completed their first day of the Tiger Paw Invitational on Friday at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex.

Following the first day of competition, Oneka Wilson’s currently leads the nation in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 7.95.

Many athletes moved on from the prelims in their respective events on the first day of competition. In each event, Clemson athletes earned either a personal or season best in their events across the board. Lastly, 11 Tigers added their names or moved up the charts on the top ten all-time list.

Meet Highlights:

  • Emily Lamontagne secured a first place finish in the women’s 5000 meters with a time of 167:37.05, also adding her name as No.2 on the all-time list.
  • Nathaniel Rayan and Sharvis Simmonds both recorded new personal bests in the men’s 60m hurdles.
  • In the 60m Dash, Ayomide Oyetunji recorded a personal best of 6.78 while Henry Gainer earned a season’s best of 7.44.
  • In the men’s 5000 meters, Paul Maguire earned an 11 second personal best of 14:43.31.
  • Both Garret Brown and Jack McGahey record personal bests in the mile.
  • Oneka Wilson, Aysia Fingall, Isabelle Nebel, Isabelle Kapoor, Emma Fortuna, and Sophia Buller all earn personal bests in the 60m hurdles.
  • Wilson ran a new personal best time of 7.95 in the women’s 60 meter hurdles which ties her for the second fastest time in program history
  • In the women’s pole vault, Kirstin Hoffman and Anna Long each secured personal bests of 4.05m and 3.95m respectively.
  • Judy Kosgei moves her name up to the No.2 spot on the all-time list in the mile finishing in second place with a time of 4:33.94.
  • Also in the women’s mile, Silvia Jelelgo took 3rd place in a time of 4:35.23 to become No.3 on the all-time list with this personal best.
  • Additionally, Madison Timms, Alyssa Hammond, and Grace Sheldon all earned personal bests in the women’s mile.
  • Henry Gainer recorded a personal best in the long jump with a distance of 6.55m.
  • Ella Brooks adds her name to the all time list in the Women’s weight throw at spot No.8 with her 18.59m throw.
  • Aleksandra Stoilova continued moving up the all-time list in the 60m dash with her time of 7.25 seconds to earn the No.7 spot.
  • In the men’s 400 meters, Daniel Kidd ran a time of 47.87 and Jayden Brown ran a time of 48.15, 25th both earning personal bests.
  • Tia Stapleton and Sophia Buller recorded personal bests in the long jump.
  • Aniyah Kitt earned second place overall finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.23.
  • In the women’s 400m, Kenya Thompson, Shanque Williams, Mackenzie OsherJodyAnn Dixon, and Sophia Buller all recorded personal bests.
  • Rayan moves up on the top 10 list as he is now tied for sixth with a time of 7.70

The Tigers will continue competing as day two of the Tiger Paw Invitational begins on Saturday, February 15th at the Clemson Track and Field Complex.
