Game Preview

CLEMSON S.C. – On Saturday, Feb. 25 the Clemson Tigers (4-0) will open ACC play and face their first ranked opponent in the No. 14 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-0). Clemson will play Notre Dame at the Loftus Arena in South Bend, Ind at 1:00 p.m. The game will be live streamed on ACCNX and live stats will be available here. 

The Tiger’s enter Saturday’s game leading the ACC in goals (85), points (128), assists (43), and goals against (7). In their first four games, Clemson has outscored their opponents 85-7. In the first quarter alone the Tigers have scored 38 goals. Additionally, in the first half Clemson has put up 57 points. Wednesday’s game against Gardner-Webb was the first time that a team scored against Clemon in the first quarter. 

Gianna New, Ella Little, and Sofia Chepenik all had season high games against the Runnin’ Bulldogs. New registered six goals, Little secured ten draw controls, and Chepenik recorded four assists. Wednesday’s game marked the third time Clemson has won by at least a 20 goal margin. 

Saturday’s matchup should be a battle at the draw, as both teams have won the draw control statistics in all of their games so far in the 2023 season. Three of Notre Dame’s leading scorers last season, Kasey Chroma, Madison Ahern, and Jackie Wolak, will look to make an impact in Saturday’s game as well. 

The game will be the conference opener for both teams.
