Clemson S.C. — After a 16-7 loss to the Virginia Cavaliers on Friday, March 3, the Clemson Tigers lacrosse team (4-2) has a quick turnaround as they are set to play the Longwood Lancers (2-3) on Sunday, March 5 at 12:00 p.m. on Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field. The game will be live streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available here.Â
Emma Tilson had a standout game against Virginia, scoring the Tiger’s first two goals in the game and registering her first hat trick of her career. The Tiger’s were able to keep pace with the Cavaliers on the draw, but were ultimately unable to find the back of the net enough to outscore Virginia’s offense. Virginia’s defense was able to keep previous leading scorers Hanna Hilcoff and Gianna New scoreless. Hilcoff and New will look to find the net again and play impactful roles in Sunday’s game against Longwood.
Clemson will be the first and last ACC opponent that Longwood will face this season. Leading the Lancers are Head Coach Kylar Ferguson and Assistant Coach Maddie Wilson. Riley McDonald and Emily Kate Smith will look to make an impact on the attack as the two of them lead in goals, draw controls and assists. Meanwhile, defender’s Julia Koenig and Amelia Carlile will lead the charge in attempting to hold down Clemson’s offenseÂ
