CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers (7-4, 1-4 ACC) return to ACC play Saturday as they host the Virginia Tech Hokies (8-4, 2-3 ACC) on Saturday, March 30 at 12:00 p.m. in this year’s designated Pink Game to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The game will be streamed live on ACCNX and live stats will be available here.

Last season, Clemson defeated Virginia Tech 16-12 on the road. Hanna Hilcoff led the Tigers to their victory with a season high of six goals. Clemson pulled away with the lead in the fourth quarter after being tied 12-12 with 8:44 minutes left to play in the game.

The Tigers enter Saturday’s game in the top 10 in several statistical categories, including No. 2 in clearing percentage, No. 4 attendance, No. 6 shots on goal per game, No. 8 scoring offense, and No. 9 in draw controls per game. With Regan Byrne, Natalie Shurtleff and Kayla Macleod all registering goals in their dominating 21-4 win over Queens, Clemson’s freshmen continued to impress in the Tigers last game. Regan Byrne enters Saturday’s game as the No. 4 freshman in the nation in goals per game, Natalie Shurtleff as the No. 4 freshman in the nation in assists and Kayla Macleod as the No. 1 freshman in the nation in free position goals per game.

It is important to note that Clemson has won the draw control battle in nine of their 11 games this season. In the Tiger’s last game against Queens, Clemson won 71% of the draw controls. The battle on the draw will be critical in Saturday’s matchup against Virginia Tech.

The Hokies are coming off of a 13-9 ACC win over Pittsburgh where goalie Jocelyn Torres recorded a season best of 13 saves. Leading Virginia Tech in points and assists, Kayla Downey is No. 4 in the country in total assists with 36.
