Individual Notes * When Aaron Kelly in 2007. It was also his 13th overall touchdown of the year, breaking the previous Clemson record for a freshman. C.J. Spiller had 12 as a freshman in 2006. Spiller was in the stadium tonight watching from the Clemson sidelines. * Watkins had 205 all-purpose yards this evening, giving him 2,282 for the season, second most in ACC history for a season. The only figure better is C.J. Spiller 2,680 in 2009. * DeAndre Hopkins broke his own bowl game receiving record tonight. He had 10 receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown. The previous Clemson record for receptions in a bowl game was nine by Hopkins last year against South Florida in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. * Tajh Boyd set an ACC record for touchdown responsibility tonight. His two touchdown passes gave him 38 touchdowns passing and running for the season. The previous ACC mark was 37 by Philip Rivers of NC State in 2003 and Russell Wilson of NC State in 2010. Boyd has 33 touchdown passes, already a Clemson record, and five rushing scores this year. * Kyle Young’s record of 3,097 set between 1998-01. It was his 49th start, more than any other player in Clemson history at any position. * C.J. Spiller against Auburn in the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl. Ellington finishes the season with five 100-yard rushing games and 1,178 rushing yards for the year. The rushing total is the eighth most in Clemson history. * Chris Gardocki had 10 for the Tigers in 1989. * Rashard Hall had his 10th career interception and 13th career takeaway in tonight’s game. He moved into ninth place in Clemson history in career takeaways.

Team Notes * Clemson established a school record for touchdowns in a season tonight. The record setter came on Watkins’ 27 yard touchdown catch from Tajh Boyd. That was Clemson’s 56th touchdown of the season. The previous record was 55 touchdowns in 2000 and 2006. Clemson added another score in the third quarter for its 57th touchdown of the season. * Clemson scored 26 points tonight, giving the Tigers a school record 463 points for the season. * Clemson scored 17 points in the first quarter tonight, the most points Clemson has scored in the first quarter of a bowl game. The previous high was 14 by the Tigers against Missouri in the 1949 Gator Bowl. * Clemson finishes the season with a 10-4 record, its most wins in a season since 1990 when the Tigers were 10-2. Clemson finishes the season with four wins over top 25 teams, most in school history. The Tigers played six games against top 25 teams, also the most in one season in school history.
