Clemson Head Coach Oliver Purnell

On game: “Well that was a walk in the park. I have a lot of admiration for their team. They played yesterday and still had a lot of heart and energy. It was a struggle for us to win this game. We were not in sync defensively and we didn’t wear them down. Their 3’s got us on our heels.” “Give our guys credit, they hung in there. We guarded Liberty well and made plays and got the shot clock down.”

On the season: “I’m very please with the season so far. I gave our team an A for the first 3rd of the season. We have played some outstanding teams.” “I think we should be ranked tomorrow, I think we are one of the top 25 teams in the nation.”

On Rivers: “All year long he has been about toughness. He refused to lose today, he kept scoring, rebounding and he was great defensively.”

On Curry: “He scares you to death every time he shoots.”

Liberty Head Coach Ritchie McKay

On Game: “I was very proud of our team’s effort. Clemson is as good a team as I have seen this season and we battled but just couldn’t finish and get the stops we needed. The crowd got energized at the end and we have to remember to finish and get stops. Clemson just has so many weapons, they are definitely a Top 25 team.”

On K.C. Rivers: “He definitely carried them at the end of the game and he kept answering our baskets with one of his own. He played at the level of a first-team All-ACC or All-American player.”

On Rebounds: “We have a lot of heart and if we can keep honoring the process and stay humble then we will hopefully have the opportunity to put Liberty on the map in basketball.”

On week off: “We are tired after playing two games in two days, so now we get some time to get back in the classroom and rest. Hopefully we can build on this experience and get ready for the next game.”
