On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, the NCAA Division I Council extended the all-sports temporary recruiting dead period through Friday, January 1, 2021. During a dead period, NCAA rules prohibit in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off a Division I campus. Also, official and unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes to a DI campus are prohibited during this time.
As part of the all-sports temporary recruiting dead period, it is impermissible for a DI institution to provide complimentary admissions to competition to prospective student-athletes and their high school or two-year college coaches. To read more about this, please see this article at NCAA.org.
