CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Tennis team (13-10, 3-8 ACC) plays host to No. 56 Southern Methodist University (11-12, 3-7 ACC) on Friday, April 11 at 1:00 pm. The match will serve as senior day for co-captains Sophia Hatton and Annabelle Davis, both graduate students.
Admission is free to all, and there will be live stats and a stream for online viewers. There will also be free posters of the seniors and donuts, tea, and lemonade for all in attendance.
Hatton has been with the Tigers since the 2020 season and is 7-6 in singles and 9-8 in doubles this season. Davis, a grad transfer from the University of North Florida, joined the Tigers in the fall of 2024 and is 10-3 in singles and 9-8 in doubles.
Three Tigers are taking on the weekend with new ITA rankings, which were revealed on April 8 and can be viewed here—Graduate Sophia Hatton checks in at No. 111, her highest season ranking. Two doubles pairs were also ranked in the same announcement, with freshman duo Gaia Parravicini and Amelie Semjkalova moving to No. 39 in the nation. Romana Cisovska and Candela Yecora are ranked No. 77 in the country.
This marks only the fourth time in program history that the Tigers and Mustangs have matched against each other, with Clemson leading 2-1. The programs last met in 1989, when the Tigers lost 5-4.
