WTEN: Two Clemson Doubles Pairs Earn National Rankings in Latest ITA Poll

CLEMSON, S.C. – Two Clemson women’s tennis doubles teams earned national recognition in the latest ITA rankings, released Tuesday, April 1.

Amelie Smejkalova and Gaia Parravicini jumped to No. 32 in the national doubles rankings after an impressive run this season. The duo is 9-5 in doubles play and recently claimed a significant win, taking down NC State’s No. 2-ranked pair of Maddy Zampardo and Gabrielle Broadfoot. Smejkalova and Parravicini’s climb from a previous rank of No. 80 marks a large jump in this week’s national rankings.

Two other Tigers, Romana Cisovska and Candela Yecora, landed a National ranking at No. 47. The pair leads Clemson in doubles victories this season with a 12-6 record.

The Tigers (13-8, 3-6 ACC) also earned a team ranking of No. 35 nationally. Clemson continues conference play as they prepare for the final stretch of the regular season by heading to Indiana to take on No. 30 Notre Dame on Friday, April 4, at 4:00 p.m. at the Eck Tennis Pavilion and Courtney Tennis Center.
