CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 21 Clemson Women’s Tennis (10-2) capped off a perfect weekend with dominant victories over UNC Greensboro (0-7) and Queens (0-6) at Duckworth on Sunday. Over the weekend, the Tigers did not drop a single point, going 4-0 and winning by a combined score of 19-0.
Clemson 4, UNCG 0
In doubles play, Talia Neilson-Gatenby and Artemis Aslanisvili needed just 14 minutes to dispatch the pair from UNCG, winning the opening match of the day, 6-0. Shortly after, Jade Groen and Rinon Okuwaki wrapped up a 6-1 victory to give the Tigers yet another doubles point. Gaia Parravicini and Romana Cisovska led Sydney Bly and Sofia Somoano 4-2, but their match was abandoned when the Tigers clinched the doubles point
Kicking off singles action, Aslanisvili picked up a two-set victory, dropping just two games in the 48-minute match. Okuwaki won her first set 6-0 before grinding out a 7-5 victory in the second set to give Clemson a 3-0 advantage over the Spartans. Two minutes later, Groen brought home the Tigers’ ninth victory on the year with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sophia Cedeno. When Groen clinched the final point, all three Tigers still in play had the lead.
Clemson 4, Queens 0
In the matinee, the Tigers dropped just two games on the way to another doubles sweep. On court one, Groen and Okuwaki took down Mathilde Bris and Zoe Cvitanovic 6-0 in 18 minutes. Four minutes later on court three, the team of Aslanisvili and Sophie Clayton took down Jett Coetzee and Daniela Rebeca Tomala Egas 6-1 to clinch the doubles point for Clemson. At the time of the clinch, Parravicini and Cisovska held a 5-1 lead before their match was abandoned.
In singles action, it was more of the same. Candela Yecora cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory to put the Tigers up 2-0 over the Royals. Soon after, Clayton clinched a 6-1, 6-0 victory on court six to extend the Tigers’ lead to three. A minute later, Aslanisvili delivered the final blow in the form of a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory that clinched the Tigers their second win of the day and finished off a perfect weekend. Groen (6-0, 5-1), Neilson-Gatenby (6-2, 2-3) and Parravicini (6-1, 4-1) each won their first set and held the lead in their matches at the time of abandonment.
UP NEXT: Clemson is back on the road with matches at California and Stanford, marking the first ACC matchups of the 2026 spring season. The Tigers weekend on the West Coast starts Friday, Feb. 20 (TBA) against Cal followed by a 3 p.m. match at Stanford on Saturday, Feb. 21.
