Women’s Volleyball Falls to No. 28 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, IN – The Fighting Irish volleyball team defeated the Clemson Tigers 3-0 (15-7, 15-8, 15-6) in the final round of the Shamrock Invitational played Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers fall to 0-3 on the season while Notre Dame improves to 3-0 overall.

Jodi Steffes led Clemson with a match-high 17 kills, ten digs, and five block assists. Jessi Betcher tallied 32 assists with seven digs, and Mallory Benson led the team in blocking with one solo block and four block assists.

Notre Dame’s Malinda Goralski had 16 kills while Christi Girton added 15 kills. Denise Boylan tallied a match-high 49 assists with seven digs and four block assists.

Clemson hosts the Big Orange Bash next Friday and Saturday at Jervey Gymnasium. Akron plays South Florida Friday at 5:00 p.m. followed by Clemson against Davidson at 7:00 p.m.
