Women’s Tennis Match Postponed

Jan. 27, 2000

CLEMSON, SC-The Clemson women’s tennis match versus College of Charleston scheduled for Saturday at 11:30 a.m. has been postponed. Because of inclement weather in the Charleston area, the Cougars will be unable to make the trip to Clemson. The match will be rescheduled later in the spring.

The Tigers return four starters from last season’s team, including All-ACC selection Carmina Giraldo, who represented Clemson in the NCAA Tournament last season. Clemson has also added five newcomers to the team: Renata Brito (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Laurence Jayet (Le Cannet, France), Sunny Harmon (Greenwood, SC), Anna Savitskaya (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Ana Stiglic (Kensington, South Africa).

Giraldo will compete in the ITA National Indoor Championships in Dallas, TX, February 3-6, while the rest of the team will compete at the Virginia Tech Tournament in Blacksburg, VA, February 4-6. The Tigers’ next dual meet is scheduled for February 11 at 2:30 p.m., when Clemson plays host to Georgia.
