Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s tennis team is headed to its fourth tournament of the season as it heads to Tuscaloosa Ala. for Roberta Alison. Five Tigers are set to make the trip including Mackenzy Middlebrooks, Laura Marti, Eleni Louka, Ali DeSpain and Zaina Nait Omar.
The tournament field features 17 opponents, including three ranked squads in Indiana, Wisconsin and Ole Miss. As a team, Clemson holds the all-time advantage over eight teams in the field and is a combined 75-19 against all competition. In addition, the Tigers have never taken the court as a team against seven teams in attendance, including Alabama State, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Lewis, Ole Miss, UT Martin and UAB.
Tournament action kicks off with doubles as all five Tigers are set to take the court at 11 a.m ET/10 a.m CT. Louka and Middlebrooks will pair for the second time this season and Marti and DeSpain will tandem for the first time this season. Additionally. Nait Omar will team up with Melissa Pick of Wisconsin. In the opening round of singles, Clemson will face opponents from Memphis, Maryland, Troy, UT Martin and Wisconsin.
