Women’s Soccer Defeats Charleston Southern, 9-0

September 24, 1998

CLEMSON, SC–Sara Burkett and Tatum Clowney both scored two goals each in leading 12th-ranked Clemson to a 9-0 win over Charleston Southern in a women’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Wednesday.

With the win, Clemson improves its record to 4-3 overall, while Charleston Southern falls to 4-3 this season The Lady Tigers are ranked 12th in the NSCAA poll and 18th in the Soccer America listing.

Burkett has now scored six goals this season. Clowney and Sami Butke both had two assists each in the match.

Clemson will play at Florida State Sunday afternoon in the Lady Tigers’ next match.
