Dublin, Ohio – Clemson women’s golf won both of its matches on Monday, in the first two rounds of the 2024 Barbara Nicklaus Cup, held at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. The Tigers downed Charlotte in the morning session, 4.5-1.5 and Florida, 3.5-2.5, in the afternoon session. The Clemson men’s team, also competing in the event, went 1-1 on Monday.
The Tigers were paced by Sydney Roberts, who won both of her matches on the day. Roberts earned the most decisive victory against Charlotte, 6&4, as well as the largest victory against Charlotte, 5&3. Chloe Holder also won both of her matches, a 2&1 victory over Charlotte and a 1-up win over Florida.
Melena Barrientos and Isabella Rawl each won a match against Charlotte, while Kat Schuster earned a win over Florida. Allison Paik tied her match against Charlotte and dropped her match against Florida.
In the team standings, men’s and women’s scores are tallied together to determine one school winner after three rounds. Following the first two rounds, Clemson is currently in second place at 12.5, just behind Charlotte with 14.
The Tigers will take on Ohio State in Tuesday’s final round and are set to tee off at 8:39 a.m.
