Women Register Points in DMR Thursday at ACC Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. – On the opening night of the 2019 ACC Track & Field Championships, the Clemson women earned their first two points of the meet after placing seventh in the DMR Thursday evening at Virginia Tech’s Rector Field House. The relay group, which featured Kamryn McIntosh, Markeeta Thomas, Andrea Foster and Logan Morris, ran 11:28.70. Foster ran the second-fastest 800m split of the race with a time of 2:08.60

The men, consisting of John Ward, Oliver Lloyd, Malik Epps and John Lewis, were deemed disqualified after a Tiger was ruled outside of the exchange zone.

The 2019 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships resume Friday, Feb. 22 at the Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Virginia. Friday’s action kicks off with the men’s high jump at noon, which will feature Clemson freshman Anthony Hamilton. Senior Elizabeth Dawson and junior Erin McLaughlin will get things started for the Tigers on the track at 1 p.m. in the women’s 5,000m (unseeded).

From the Tigers’ standpoint, Friday’s events will be highlighted by the men’s long jump at 4:30 p.m., which features sophomore D.J. Ledell and Chris McBride, who was the 2017 long jump champion. Additionally, freshman Kenya Livingston, the ACC’s leader in the high jump, is slated to compete at 6:45 p.m.
