Wetherington, Maynard Added to Women’s Soccer Staff

Clemson, S.C. – Allison Wetherington and Miles Maynard have been named to the women’s soccer staff, it has been announced by head coach Eddie Radwanski. Wetherington is the Tigers’ newest assistant coach, while Maynard joins the staff as Director of Operations.

“We’re excited to add another member to our coaching staff in Allison Wetherington,” said Coach Radwanski. “Allison comes with a great pedigree in her soccer career, having spent time in the US National program and in the NWSL. I actually coached Allison in the Olympic Development Program when she was on my region team, so I’ve known her for a long time. Allison is going to bring a professional approach to our team, and one of her strengths is individual training, so we’re going to utilize that. To get to add another asset like this, Allison was the perfect fit, and we’re so glad she’s with us.”

Wetherington was a four-year All-WCC selection at the University of Portland, earning WCC Freshman of the Year honors in 2013. She led the team in assists twice and was named Second Team All-Region as a senior in 2017. Wetherington spent one year in the NWSL with the Houston Dash and coached at Concorde Fire in Atlanta prior to joining the Tigers. Wetherington also spent time with the U18, U20 and U23 US National Teams.

Maynard returns to Clemson as the Director of Operations after spending a year as a teacher at Lambert High School in Suwanee, Ga. Prior to that, Maynard spent two years as the women’s soccer graduate assistant with the Tigers, while also serving as graduate student body president. He also has experience as the Director of Girls Select Goalkeepers with Atlanta Fire United and a high school soccer coach.

Clemson opens the 2023-24 campaign on August 17, welcoming South Carolina to Historic Riggs Field for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
