AUSTIN, TX – Clemson sophomore Marlena Wesh recorded a personal best and qualified for the finals of the women’s 400 hurdles on Thursday, the Tigers’ first day of action at the 84th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Wesh will next compete in Saturday’s final at 12:15 PM local time.
Wesh was runner-up in her heat, but fourth-fastest overall on the afternoon with a time of 57.49. Her time is good enough to rank No. 3 on Clemson’s all-time 400 hurdle performance list. Wesh was the ACC’s indoor champion in the 400m dash in February.
Jordan Rispress competed in the men’s 400 hurdle prelims on Thursday. Adams was the top performer, clocking a time of 52.89 to place 15th out of 54 competitors. Rispress ran a time of 53.74 and was 26th overall.
Clemson returns to action in Texas at 9:30 AM locally with the preliminary round of the women’s 4x100m relay. The first field event of the day will be the women’s long jump, which will feature three student-athletes from the Clemson roster. The Tigers also get underway in Athens, GA on Friday at the Spec Towns Invitational.
