Walker Course Among Nation?s Best

CLEMSON, S.C. – For the first time since opening its doors in 1995, The Walker Course at Clemson is featured in Golfweek’s Best: Campus Courses, earning a spot at No. 14 on the magazine’s annual top-30 list.

The Walker Course was previously unranked by the publication and was the only course to jump into the top 30 this year. Clemson’s course was ranked second among ACC university courses, trailing only the Pete Dye River Course at Virginia Tech.

According to the publication, “The Walker Course is a 6,911-yard par 72 that attracts Clemson locals and students with its close proximity to campus and its scenic views of Lake Hartwell. It even boasts a touch of school pride with the iconic “tiger paw” hole – the par-3 seventeenth.

“To conquer the 192-yard gem, players are forced to carry their shots over water to the peninsula green that, with the help of four bunkers, perfectly shapes the familiar “Clemson Tiger Paw.”
