Volleyball Leads ACC in Several Categories

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson volleyball team leads the ACC in two statistical categories, hitting percentage and blocks per game. In the Tigers’ six matches this season, Clemson has posted a .330 hitting percentage and is averaging 3.18 blocks per game. The Tigers are tied for second with 2.00 service aces per game.

In last week’s NCAA rankings, Clemson ranked eighth nationally with a .336 hitting percentage and 19th nationally with 3.19 blocks per game. Senior middle hitter Stephanie Schulz ranked second nationally last week with a .575 hitting percentage.

Schulz currently leads the conference with a .495 hitting percentage. Junior Cindy Stern ranks second with a hitting percentage of .421, while junior Alison Coday ranks eighth with a .319 hitting percentage.

Stern leads the ACC with 1.59 blocks per game, followed by Schulz, who ranks fifth with 1.36 blocks per game. Junior Skye Frost is tied for second with 0.57 service aces per game. Sophomore Melissa Kudelka ranks sixth in the league with 11.40 assists per game.

Clemson (5-1) is ranked 31st nationally this week in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches’ Poll. This weekend Clemson will travel to Kentucky for the Wildcat Invitational. On Friday, the Tigers will face SMU at 5 p.m. Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Clemson will face Arkansas State, before playing Kentucky Saturday at 7 p.m.
