Volleyball Falls to Ga. Tech in ACC Opener

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team fell, 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-10), to Georgia Tech in the Tigers’ opening ACC match of the season in Jervey Gym Friday night. Clemson, now 5-8 on the season, will look to rebound in their first ACC road match against Wake Forest (8-5, 0-1 ACC), which is slated for Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.

“I thought that we had an amazing home crowd for our ACC opener and our crowd continues to grow along with the support from the community, which I think is amazing to see over the course of the season,” said Clemson head coach Michaela Franklin. “I think the biggest thing we need to get back to is our competitive intensity. That’s something that I know our team can control and that we can bring. I’ve seen it out of our group before. I think that’s the biggest thing that we are trying to get out of them. We’ve seen glimpses of it and it’s really good when you see it.”

Sophomore outside hitter Kaylin Korte led the Tigers with eight kills, eight digs and one block on the night. Junior setter Caroline Pearson added 14 assists and nine digs.
