CLEMSON, S.C. – Despite a comeback effort at the end of each set, the Clemson Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 16 Georgia Tech (14-3, 5-2 ACC) in three sets, 25-17, 25-23, 25-19. Clemson (11-7, 3-4 ACC) fell to 7-3 inside Jervey Gym for the season. Three of Clemson’s past five matches have come to teams ranked inside the Top 20 nationally.
Camryn Hannah guided the Tigers with 13 kills on .345 hitting and recorded her 500th career kill in the match. Kaylee Martin added 8 kills, while Crystal Childs tallied a season-best two blocks. Mckenna Slavik registered 30 assists and recorded her 10th match with at least 30 assists for the 2021 season. On the defensive end, Devan Taylor added 14 digs for the night.
Clemson threatened to take the second set, tying the match at 23-23 before the Yellow Jackets put away the final two points out of a timeout. Clemson also kept the match competitive in their last set going on a 4-0 run to bring the score to 24-19 before a service error secured the set. The Yellow Jackets used a .365 hitting percentage to edge past the Tigers in three sets.
