Charlottesville, Va. – The Clemson Tigers dropped a 3-0 (15-7, 16-14, 15-5) decision to the Virginia Cavaliers in ACC volleyball action Friday night. With the loss, Clemson drops to 11-15 overall and 4-8 in league play while Virginia improves to 14-12 overall and 7-6 in the ACC.
Meredith Kirtland led the Tigers with 13 kills and nine digs while Jodi Steffes recorded ten kills with ten digs. Jessi Betcher handed out a team-high 36 assists while Anne Berki had a team-best two blocks.
Virginia’s Deanna Zwarich led all hitters with 19 kills while Katie Jones tallied a team-high ten digs. Shannon Boyle recorded a match-high four blocks (one solo) wile Abby Whittenberg led the Cavaliers with 30 assists.
Clemson travels to College Park, MD, Saturday evening for an ACC matchup against the University of Maryland at 5:00 p.m.
