UC Irvine Men’s Tennis Team Downs Clemson 6-1

Irvine, CA — UC Irvine won two out of three doubles matches and five out of six singles matches to defeat Clemson 6-1 in men’s tennis on Saturday afternoon in Irvine, CA. With the loss, Clemson falls to 8-7 overall on the year.

The Anteaters won two of three doubles matches for the first point of the day. Picking up the lone win for the Tigers in doubles was Sander Koning and Goran Sterijovski who won their match in the No. 2 position by a score of 8-2.

UC Irvine went on to win five out of the six singles matches from the Tigers to clinch the victory. Sander Koning won his match over Dontia Haynes in the No. 4 position to get Clemson on the scoreboard but the Anteaters won at No. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 singles.

Clemson will next be in action on Monday afternoon when they travel to Malibu, CA to take on Pepperdine.
