CLEMSON, S.C. – Two Tigers have been named to the ACC All-Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday.
Jorge Plans Gonzalez and Teodor Giusca finished an incredible year on and off the court. Giusca finds himself on the All-ACC Academic Team for the second time in his accomplished career while Plans Gonzalez earns his first honor. Both were integral to the success of the team this season and secured wins in the second round of the ACC Tournament to beat No. 22 Duke and advance to the ACC Quarterfinals for the first time since 2015.
Teodor Giusca, a management major, made the Dean’s List this spring after boasting a 19-6 singles record in dual matches. He was named ACC Doubles Team of the Week with Ryuhei Azuma earlier this season after defeating Charlotte’s No. 16 doubles pair in Savva/Simon.
Plans Gonzalez is majoring in pre-business and was on the Honor Roll for his success in the classroom. He went 18-9 in dual matches this season and clinched the win over No. 22 Duke.
