CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson track & field team is set to host its third indoor track & field meet of the 2018-19 season with the annual Clemson Invitational. The meet will take place at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex Friday and Saturday (Jan. 18-19). Friday’s action kicks off at 2:30 p.m., with the women’s long jump, men’s shot put and the women’s 60m hurdles (prelims). Saturday will begin with three field events beginning at 11 a.m., and the first running event (women’s 600m) commencing at noon.

Senior John Lewis is entered in three events: the 600m, 800m and mile. Lewis, who is Clemson’s indoor 800m record holder will look to improve on his ACC-leading mile time of 4:07.40, which he achieved in Clemson’s opening meet on Dec. 8, 2018. On the infield, LaFranz Campbell will enter in the 60mH and 60m dash. Campbell, a sophomore transfer from Wiley College, posted the nation’s No. 13 time (7.85) in the 60mH at the Orange & Purple Elite last weekend. Campbell will also compete in his first 60m dash at the Division I level this weekend. In the cage, Grant Voeks (shot put) and Joe Cline (weight) will look to sustain momentum for a red-hot throws group. Voeks returns to competition for the first time since the Clemson Opener after having last weekend off. Cline has posted PRs in back-to-back meets for the Tigers. His best toss of 17.99m (59-0.25) at the Orange & Purple Elite last weekend currently ranks fifth in the ACC.

On the women’s side, Kamryn McIntosh is expected to compete alongside former Clemson standout Natoya Goule in the women’s 600m. McIntosh is also scheduled for the 800m with Clemson newcomer Andrea Foster, the 2018 NJCAA outdoor 800m champion. Sprinter Rebekah Smith will make her return to the track for the first time since the Clemson Opener. The junior is entered in her natural events, the 60m and 200m dashes, for the first time this season. In the jumps department, freshman Kenya Livingston will look to build off her first career high jump victory, which she achieved last week. Livingston is also listed to compete in her first career triple jump as is Clemson sophomore Harleigh White.

The meet will conclude Saturday with the always heavily anticipated 4x400m relays, which are slated for 2:35 p.m.
