NEW ORLEANS, La.-Clemson head football coach Tommy Bowden will be a guest at halftime of the Nokia Sugar Bowl National Championship Game on ABC-TV on Tuesday night in New Orleans. The game, which features Florida State and Virginia Tech, will kickoff at 8 p.m. ET.
Bowden’s father, Bobby, will be attempting to earn his second National Championship win as the head coach of the Florida State Seminoles. Bowden’s brother, Terry, is an analyst for ABC’s College Football.
Bowden headed to New Orleans the day after Clemson participated in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on December 30. He appeared as a guest on ABC’s Good Morning America show on Tuesday morning.
Bowden led Clemson to a 6-6 record in his first season as head coach after the Tigers finished the 1998 season 3-8.
