Tom Boozer Passes Away

CLEMSON, S.C. — Former Clemson defensive end Tom Boozer passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7. He was 71 years old.

A three-year letterman for the Tigers from 1972-74, Boozer arrived at Clemson in 1971 as an offensive end. He led Clemson’s 1971 freshman team in receiving with 14 catches for 223 yards and two touchdowns and moved to defense during for the 1972 season.

A native of Columbia, S.C., he earned all-area and all-state honors and twice earned Lineman of the Year for the state of South Carolina during his prep career at Eau Claire High School. He earned his degree in parks, recreation and tourism management from Clemson in 1975.
