Athens, Ga. – The Clemson men’s tennis squad wrapped up its second weekend of fall action at the Southern Intercollegiate Championship on Sunday. The Tigers finished the weekend a combined 8-6 in singles and 3-4 in doubles.
Sophomores Teodor Giusca and Matteo Vialmin each recorded singles victories over conference rivals in to finish competition in Athens. Giusca defeated Georgia Tech’s Keshav Chopra, 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 while Vialmin, who earned his first singles win of the season, took down Miami’s Stephen Madonia, 2-6, 6-1, 10-7.
Clemson also completed the weekend with a win in its only doubles match of the day as Yizhou Liu/Gabriel Diaz Freire bested Jacob Bullard/Evin McDonald of defending national champion Texas, 7-5.
The Tigers return to action for the third consecutive on Friday as they head to Belton, S.C. for the South Carolina Collegiate Championships.
