Tigers Wrap Up Play at IJGA Collegiate Invitational

Clemson, S.C. – Ivy Shepherd finished tied for 15th among individuals at the IJGA Collegiate Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico as Clemson completed the remaining nine holes Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers ranked 13th as a team after rounds of 293-298-303 to bring their team score to 894 across the three-day event. 

After trailing by a stroke in the final holes, host Virginia pulled through to claim the title with an eight-under par day. LSU finished the tournament at six-under par while South Carolina sat seven strokes off the champion Cavaliers. 

The 73rd ranked Amanda Doherty of Florida State capped off a four-under final round to take the individual crown by a one stroke margin over Ingrid Lindblad of LSU. 

Following a one-over par score in the first leg of the third round, Shepherd battled back on the back nine where she shot two-under par to even out her tournament total. Playing out of the second and third positions respectively, Callista Rice and Ana Paula Valdes finished the final round with a five-over par total. Valdes went on to finish 39th among the individual field while Rice ranked 49th. 

The Tigers look ahead to their next slate of competition as they head south to Panama City Beach, Fla. to take part in the two-day Florida State Match-Up. The match-up is set to open up play on Feb. 29 with the final day being played on Mar. 1.
