Day One Results
Clemson, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team wrapped up day one of competition at the Florida State Invitational. Zaina Nait Omar made her first appearance of the season winning the lone match for the Tigers, 6-4, 6-2, over Florida State’s Lara Schneider. In her first career match against a ranked opponent, Jenna Thompson earned a 7-5 first-set victory over No. 31 Lea Ma of Georgia, despite falling, 7-5, 3-6, 2-6. Mackenzy Middlebrooks, who made her season debut, took a set from Alee Clayton of Georgia but dropped the decision, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6.
Action from Tallahassee resumes tomorrow with doubles starting at 10 a.m. and singles at 2 p.m.
