CLEMSON, S.C. — Members of the Clemson Men’s Tennis team competed as the hosts of the Clemson Fall Open, a Universal Tennis Rating tournament on Sunday afternoon at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
Senior Teodor Giusca claimed the overall singles victory in the Orange Draw, winning all four of his matches and defeating fellow Tiger sophomore Jorge Plans Gonzalez in a hard-fought finals match. The match went to a third and decisive set, with Giusca ultimately taking it 5-7, 6-4, 10-8.
Tiger sophomores Ryuhei Azuma and Spencer Whitaker won all three of their matches in the Orange Doubles bracket, claiming the victory in the finals 6-4 over Roelofse/Westling, representing the Furman Paladins.
Azuma and redshirt senior Yizhour Liu also both advanced to the Orange Draw semifinals. Overall, Clemson players won 13 matches in the weekend event.
