Tigers Tied for Fourth Place Midway Through Valspar Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, GA. – No. 16 Clemson Women’s Golf fired a two-under-par 286 in the first round and was three-under-par midway through the second round when play was halted at the Valspar Augusta Invitational on Friday. The Tigers will resume second-round play at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and move immediately into the third round at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

The Tigers sit in a tie for fourth place behind No. 12 Auburn (-9), No. 5 South Carolina (-10) and No. 14 Ole Miss (-14). Clemson’s players completed between 8-10 holes in the second round when play concluded.  

Annabelle Pancake shot a three-under-par 69 in the first round, her seventh round in the 60s this season, to lead the Tigers and sits in a tie for 11th place in the stacked field. Sydney Roberts shot a one-under-par 71 in the first round, followed closely by Chloe Holder (73), Isabella Rawl (73), and Melena Barrientos (74). 

The Tigers enter Saturday with the second-most birdies in the field (28) and the second-best score-to-par on par fours, while finding opportunity on the par fives, where they’re six-under-par.
