Tigers Third After First Round of Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, N.C. – Clemson women’s golf sits in a tie for third place after the first round of the Landfall Tradition, held at the Country Club of Landfall on the 6,194-yard, par-72 Dye Course. The Tigers finished -5 on the back nine to climb into the top three after Friday’s play.

Savannah Grewal leads Clemson with the Tigers’ best round of the day. The senior from Mississauga, Ontario, carded a four-under 68 on Friday. Grewal finished the back nine without a single bogey and turned in six birdies on the day to sit in a tie for third.

Annabelle Pancake carded a two-under 70 as Clemson’s second-best scorer of the day. Pancake also finished the back nine without a bogey and recorded five birdies to sit in a tied for ninth. Isabella Rawl was the third Tiger to finish the back nine without a bogey and bookended her round with birdies to finish as the third Tiger under par (-1, 71). 

Chloe Holder finished the round at +4, tied for 67th and Katherine Schuster rounded out the Tigers’ lineup at +6, T85. As an individual, Sydney Roberts also finished the round at +6, T85.

As a team, the Tigers are six strokes behind the round’s top-finisher Michigan State (-9). UCF finished second on the day at -4, followed by Clemson and Illinois (-3). Duke rounds out the top five at -2. Clemson is one of 16 ranked teams in the field.
