CLEMSON, S.C. — The Tigers (2-0, 0-0 ACC) battled to wins on Court 1 and Court 2 to secure the doubles point and continued to impress in singles as Clemson earned its second win of the season against Wofford (0-2, 0-0 SOCON), 7-0.

Redshirt freshman Trey Stinchcomb also saw his first action for the Tigers alongside Matt Pitts on Court 3 before Plans Gonzalez and Smith clinched.
Redshirt freshman M. Pitts cemented the first singles point for the Tigers on Court 5 while Azuma finished shortly behind with a win of his own on Court 1. Soon after, Plans Gonzalez, Whitaker, Smith and Liu all recorded victories on their respective courts, tallying a clean sweep.
“It was a tough match tonight,” said Head Coach Robbie Weiss. “Wofford played very well and competed great. Our boys had to dig deep at certain times throughout the match and found ways to come out on top. We are happy with the win but need to tighten it up a bit more for Sunday’s match. I am proud of the boys for their efforts tonight and am excited to play a tough ETSU team on Sunday.”
