Tigers Shine at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Clemson track and field program completed competition at the 129th Penn Relays as three individuals secured first place finishes and the women were crowned the champions of the sprint medley relay for the second season in a row.

The Clemson women, made up of Aniyah Kitt, McKenzie Calloway, Shanque Williams and Gladys Chepngetich ran the fastest time in the women’s sprint medley relay as they ran 3:42.50 to secure first place. The Tigers also finished first in the SMR last season as Chepngetich was also on last year’s winning team.

Oneka Wilson, Shantae Foreman and JodyAnn Dixon all secured first place finishes in their individual events as the Tigers brought home champion watches in the 100 meter hurdles, triple jump and the 400 meter hurdles.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The Clemson women ran 3:42.50 in the SMR to secure first place for back-to-back seasons
  • Oneka Wilson won the women’s 100 meter hurdles championship as she ran 12.94 to secure first place
  • JodyAnn Dixon recorded a first place finish in the women’s 400 meter hurdles as she ran 56.86 to secure the fastest time of the meet and a spot on the podium
  • Shantae Foreman was crowned the champion in the women’s triple jump as she jumped 12.73 to secure first place in the event
  • Kendra Dye improved her top ten mark in the women’s hammer throw as she threw a personal best of 55.38m to keep her No. 7 spot
  • In the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase, Madison Roush recorded a new personal best to improve her time on the top ten list as she ran 10:29.45 to move up to fifth all-time
  • Kirstin Hoffman cleared a new personal best of 4.06m in the women’s pole vault to move up to fourth on the top ten list
  • The Clemson women ran 8:21.39 in the women’s 4×800 relay, which is one of the fastest times in Clemson history to secure second place overall in the event.
