Shortly after, the 2V8+ placed second again, clocking in at 06:57.680 while the 1V4+ followed that up with another impressive performance of their own with a 07.38.139 time for a second-place finish. The 2V4+ capped off day one of the ACC Championships placing second yet again, with a time of 08.01.339.
“The girls did exactly what we wanted them to do today,” said Head Coach Stephen Frazier Wong. “We had a mission of getting all boats to the finals, and we are one of four teams at the ACC Championships to do that. I’m really proud that they followed through with that mission. Now we get ready for tomorrow. It’s going to be a barn burner of a final. There are a lot of boats in contention across every school, and we can’t wait to see what we have out here.”
The ACC Finals will begin tomorrow, May 14 at 8:05 a.m. with the 3V8+ petite final. Check out the Race Day Central for the full schedule.
