Tigers Pick Up Four Wins on Last Day of Hidden Dual

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team picked up four wins against MTSU/Florida on the final day of the Clemson Hidden Dual at Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on Sunday afternoon to finish out the fall season.

The Tigers started out strong as they clinched the doubles point behind victories from Matt Pitts/Trey Stinchcomb and Ryuhei Azuma/Spencer Whitaker.

While the first five courts were unable to pick up wins, Daniel Labrador and Trey Stinchcomb ended the match on a high note as they picked up their own singles wins.

“We had a very good day in doubles,” said Head Coach Robbie Weiss. “We played with a lot of energy while Ryuhei and Spencer beat a good team from Florida. We struggled a bit in singles and did not finish as strong as I would have liked, but hats off to Florida and MTSU for playing well. We lost a lot of deuce points on all the courts which was the difference. Daniel and Trey did a great job finishing off their opponents. We made a lot of improvements this fall and are a much tougher team than last season. I am really excited to get started in January and see how far we can go.”

Clemson will return to Duckworth Family Tennis Facility for the spring season on January 8-10 for the Clemson UTR tournament.
