CLEMSON, SC – Last year when Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney brought his football team to Tigerama, the school’s Homecoming Pep Rally at Littlejohn Coliseum, he vowed that the following year he would have his team participate. That meant performing a skit on stage in front of the crowd of over 6,000 people.
It was another first for Dabo Swinney’s Tigers. A Clemson football team had never performed a skit at Tigerama in the 53 years of the event.
Swinney came through with his promise on Friday night as the team performed a rendition of Michael Jackson’s famed music video “Thriller,” appropriate in this Halloween season.
There was a change in the lyrics, however. Instead of using the word “Thriller” the team said “Spiller.” The change was made in honor of Clemson Heisman Trophy candidate C.J. Spiller, one of the most thrilling players in college football.
Spiller performed on stage with the group complete with moon walk, sun glasses and glove.
The Tigers face Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1:30 PM at Clemson Memorial Stadium.
