Tigers Overpowered by No. 35 Miami in Coral Gables Sunday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Clemson men’s tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss against 35th-ranked Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 6-6 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while the Hurricanes improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in league play with the victory.

All three doubles matches were close, but the Hurricanes came out on top 6-4 on Courts 2 and 3 to claim the doubles point. When play was abandoned, the Tigers’ duo of Pierre-Louis Dodens and Jacob Jahn were leading 5-4 at the No. 1 doubles position. Singles play went the way of the Hurricanes on all six courts, with Dodens and Carlos Kelaidis both forcing third sets at their respective positions, No. 4 and No.  5.

UP NEXT
After being on the road for the entire month of February, seven consecutive matches, the team returns home to Clemson for two matches next weekend. On Friday, March 1, the Tigers host South Carolina State at 5 p.m., and on Sunday, March 3, they host Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
