Clemson, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team has announced the signing of Alexandra Anttila from Lappeenranta, Finland. The signing marks the second under Head Coach Christy Lynch.
As one of the top women’s tennis players in her home country, Anttila is a member of the Porsche Junior Team Finland and has competed on some of the world’s biggest stages including at the U.S. and Australian Junior Opens. Anttila achieved a career high ITF ranking of 157 in December 2018 and has won three ITF Junior events in singles and seven in doubles. Anttila trains at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. and is coached by Nick Bollettieri and Andres Alarcon and has also worked with Martin van Daalen.
“I’m excited to welcome Alex to the Clemson family,” said Lynch. “Alex has a lot of international playing experience and has had excellent coaching throughout her junior career. More importantly she is a hard worker with great values and is also a strong student which makes her a great fit for our program!”
Anttilla is set to join the Tigers in the fall of 2021.
