Tigers Impress at Live in Lou

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Clemson cross country team competed Saturday morning at the Live in Lou meet, with the men running an 8k and the women running a 5k. Marlin Young and Maddie Dinneen were the first Tigers to complete their respective races.

Young finished the 8k in 24:12.8, giving him the 40th best time in a field of over 300 runners. He was followed by Victor Ndiwa, who in his first race ran a 18:42.3, and Jack McManus was the third Tiger finisher at 24:46.1. The men finished in 19th place out of 31 competing teams.

Dinneen was the first Clemson woman to complete the race for the third consecutive meet, running a 18:06.2 5k. She was trailed by Brynne Sumner and Madison Roush, amounting to a 23rd place finish for the team in a field of 41.

“This was a great experience for our team, especially the freshman,” said Head Coach Vicky Pounds. “It was a good indicator of where we are mid season and where we need to get to in the coming weeks.”

The Tigers have one more meet before the ACC Championships on October 28 in Charlottesville, Va. They will compete at the Crimson Classic on Friday, October 14 in Tuscaloosa Ala. as their final tune-up.
