Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (4-0) is coming off its first road game of the season, a 60-47 victory over Monmouth in West Long Branch, N.J. on Nov. 19. Sophomore Danielle Edwards led the Tigers in the contest with 19 points, including 10 in the last four minutes of the game to seal the win.
  • Freshman Kobi Thornton was named ACC Rookie of the Week for Nov. 14-20, after posting her first career double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) against Georgia Southern on Nov. 16.
  • The Tigers are 4-0 for the first time under Audra Smith and the first time since the 1998-99 season. Clemson opened the year 11-0 in 1998-99.
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads Clemson in scoring with a 12.0 points per game average. She is tied for the team lead in minutes played, averaging 32.8 minutes per game.
  • Junior Alexis Carter leads the team in assists with 15, and is second in scoring, with a 10.5 points per game average.
  • Thornton is the third Tiger averaging double figures in scoring (10.3 points per game) and she leads the Tigers in rebounding, averaging 8.0 boards per game. Her 8.0 rebounds per game are tied for sixth among all players in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
  • Edwards is first on the team in steals (16) and second in assists (13), along with being tied for the lead in minutes played (32.8 minutes per game). Edwards’ 4.0 steals per game average is second-best in the ACC.

Series Information:

  • Louisiana Tech leads the series against the Tigers with a 3-0 record all-time, however, the two teams have not met since the 1997-98 season.
  • That year, Clemson lost to the Bulldogs, 74-52, on March 16, 1998 in the NCAA Tournament Second Round in Ruston, La.
